Too far to get home from Mildura so we made a stop in a tiny town we had visited on our Riverina trip last September. Ariah Park Hotel put on such a good spread for us and it was such a charming old hotel that we decided to get off the main road (read most direct route) and stay here instead of in a large town motel.
This was such a good move. The turn off the main route (read lots of trucks use it!) took us through small towns and lovely countryside. More importantly, far less traffic.
We had a lovely big room at the hotel. Sure we had shared facilities, but the shower was actually better than in some motels we have stayed in. We were the only ones in the dining room and our meal was fresh cooked and very good.
A worthwhile decision so far as we were concerned. Altogether a lovely way to finish our trip.
